Rail Park Water Main Extension Agreement Signed
Clinton, IA – A Water Main Design Agreement has created a renewed partnership between the Clinton Regional Development Corporation (CRDC) and the Iowa-American Water Company (IAWC). The agreement allows for the full design of a water main extension from the intersection of US Highway 30 and Mill Creek Parkway, to the Lincolnway Industrial Rail & Air Park. The distance of the extension is measured at approximately 3.5 miles, and is supported by the construction of a booster station. The completion of the design phase of the extension will reduce the installation timeframe by approximately six (6) months.
After receiving Site Certification from the Iowa Economic Development Authority in 2016, the Lincolnway Industrial Rail & Air Park has piqued the interest of companies from every corner of the globe. The attractiveness of the development site is further enhanced by the finalizing of this agreement. As companies continue investigating new locations, the existence of an accessible water main line gives Clinton’s development site a sharpened edge.

The CRDC has had an interest in the park since the site’s land acquisition in 2003. As owners of 200+ acres within the park, the CRDC understands their role in its future development. The organization has agreed to pay IAWC $40,000 prior to the commencement of the design, and, in return, IAWC shall deliver its completed design documents to the CRDC.
