Workforce Key to Business Success The Greater Clinton Region offers a cost-effective, highly productive workforce that is receptive to various work environments and schedules. We have a long history of manufacturing innovation and an exemplary work ethic that comes from a farm background. People show up on time ready to work. Our Regional labor force of over 220,000 is well educated with an array of skill sets. Nearly three-fourths of those employed in our Laborshed have some level of education/training beyond high school. The majority (30%) possess professional, paraprofessional and technical skills. Engineering talent is attracted by the dozen Fortune 500 companies that call our Region home. Approximately 4,000 people residing in the Region work in other communities. Of those who are commuting outside the Region for employment, 46.2 percent (1,800 persons) are willing to explore new employment opportunities closer to home.
