CRDC honors Clinton's LumberKings, Tornow

Andy Sokolovich, vice president of economic development for Clinton Regional Development Corp., center left, congratulates LumberKings General Manager Ted Tornow at NelsonCorp Field for being CRDC’s Community Cornerstone Award winner for 2021. “Nothing says Clinton like LumberKings baseball,” Sokolovich said Tuesday. The Cornerstone Award recognizes companies for their longevity and continued community support, Sokolovich said. Baseball began in Clinton in 1895 though the team didn’t adopt the LumberKings name until 1994. From left are CRDC Office Coordinator Stacy Borgesen, CRDC Chief Executive Officer Erin Cole, Interim Director of Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce Richard Phelan, Sokolovich, Tornow, Stephen Clements, JR Kuch and Jarrek Lucke.
